Very good question! The retainer cost for the private jeweler is $500 which is paid at the beginning of the engagement. The full $500 is credited towards the final purchase price of the jewelry purchased. No purchase is required. The cost of the jewelry is based on the design and attributes selected during the custom design sessions. Eclatant strives to keep the cost of all pieces below main street retail prices while ensuring exceptional quality. All costs are presented during the design process to ensure transparency and a rewarding collaborative experience.
The collaborative design sessions are typically one hour each and most clients use two sessions. The design drawings / computer aided illustrations / gemstone sourcing process averages one to two weeks and is completed between sessions one and two. The second design session is for refinements and modifications. After a design is agreed upon, the made-to-order piece is created and delivered in four to six weeks.
If you are designing a piece for a special dates like engagements, anniversaries, birthdays, and holidays please start the process 60-90 days in advance. We have pieces that can be modified and made quickly, however fully custom designs can take up to three months to complete.
Eclatant is proudly a direct to client service. We do have a limited selection of popular items to purchase directly on the website. The vast majority of our engagements are one-on-one with clients that want private, collaborative, and personal design experiences. We do not operate retail locations, which allows us to offer a premium experience while saving clients money.
Yes, absolutely! This is one of the best ways to incorporate your wishes into your custom piece. We request that all clients share photos and/or an inspiration board from websites like Pinterest. The Private Jeweler will collaborate with you using your inspiration pieces and design a custom piece you with love.
